PANTHERS OPEN 2015 SEASON AT THORNDALE

The Burton Panthers hit the road to kick off the 2015 season Friday night when they travel to Thorndale.

The Panthers were 8-4 last year, advancing to the Area Round of the Region IV/2A Division II playoffs.

After three weeks of workouts, Coach Jason Hodde says the team is excited to get the season underway…

While losing a number of key performers from the 2014 Panther squad, Burton returns six starters on each side of the football, including running back Juwon Bradley, lineman Cole Eckermann, defensive back Donnell Patterson and tight end Dustin Hall.

The Panthers will have a freshman under center when they kick things off, as Chris Harmel takes over at quarterback.

As for opening week, Hodde says he wants to see his team come out fast and physical…

Kickoff at Thorndale is set for 7:30.

The Panther remain on the road next week and Chilton.  Their home opener is set for Friday night, September 11th against Louise.
