PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION TO MEET MONDAY

The Brenham Planning and Zoning Commission will hear a request to change the zoning for two tracts of land at the intersection of Ewing and Rucker Streets in Brenham, near the intersection of Blue Bell Rd. and North Park.

The zoning change request is being made by Kolkhorst Investments LLC to change the zoning from single-family residential to local business/residential mixed use.

According to the request filed with the city, the lots in the Washington Terrace Addition, would be developed for retail business use.  The two lots are adjoining land on which a new convenience store is being constructed.

City staff says the request conforms to the city’s zoning policies and is recommending the commission approve the request.

The Brenham Planning and Zoning Commission meets Monday night at 5:15 in the second-floor council chambers at city hall on West Vulcan.

  1. For those of you following the Planning and Zoning and particularly the City of Brenham Staff Recommendations………..This Change of Zoning Request appears to be legal. Unlike the recent change that was approved at Saeger St. and Old Mill Creek Rd. The difference being; that the Brenham Planning Manager, allowed Illegal Spot Zoning on Saeger St. at Millcreek Rd. on just one or two small lots. This request is adjoining an existing district that is the same as being requested on the adjoining property. You don’t have to be a Law Student to see right from wrong.
