PLANTERSVILLE VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER KILLED IN ACCIDENT
A Plantersville volunteer firefighter was killed in a two vehicle crash Saturday in Grimes County.
Twenty-year-old Harley Mullenix was riding in the back of a PT Cruiser with two other women.
The Department of Public Safety says the driver of the PT Cruiser was making a turn onto County Road 302 when the 17 year old driver of a Chevy Tahoe slammed into the back of the Cruiser.
Mullinex, who was in the backseat of the PT Cruiser, died at the scene.
The other two women in the back seat with Millinex, who were both pregnant, and the 17 year old driver, who transferred to area hospitals, all with serious injuries.
The accident is still being investigated, but drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
