RICHARD SHINES AS CUBS WIN, 10-0
Rayne Richard was un-hittable while the Cubs’ batters played “Home Run Derby” on their way to a 10-0 win over Caney Creek, Tuesday night at Firemen’s Park.
Richard (2-1) fired his first career no-hitter, then helped himself out at the plate by slamming two home runs.
Three other Cubs homered in the win: Dakota Brewton, Ryan Newman and Teddy Hoffman.
Jacob Stegent added three hits and two runs batted in.
The Cubs (13-6/8-0) end the first half of district play, all alone in first place in 18/4A. They hold a two-game lead over Magnolia West and Montgomery, who are each 6-2.
The Cubs will kick off the second half of district play Friday night when they host Magnolia West. First pitch is at 7:00. The game can be heard in its entirety following Cubette playoff soccer on KWHI and www.kwhi.com.
