ROUND TOP TO CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY

Round Top will celebrate Independence Day for the 166th time on July 4th – the oldest continuous 4th of July celebration west of the Mississippi River. Activities will begin at 10:00am on the town square featuring addresses by state and local dignitaries. Presentation of the National Anthem will be featured at the conclusion of the speeches. Round Top’s vintage civil war cannon will be fired at 10:30am to signal the start of the parade. The parade will wind through the streets back to the grounds of the Round Top Rifle Association at FM 1457.

Upon arrival of the parade, a boneless beef, pork, and sausage BBQ meal will be served. Everyone can buy BBQ to go beginning at 10:30. All food is being prepared by the crew from the Rifle Association.

All day music in the Biergarten will be performed by the Round Top Brass Band, the music department from the RTC ISD, and a jam session featuring the local accordion virtuosos.

Line up for the parade begins at 7:30am at the Rifle Association. For more information visit: www.RoundTopRifle.com.

  1. Thank God for freedom! Thank our military for freedom both past and present! Our freedoms r being taken away fast! We got an enemy that wants America destroyed! We need to Wake Up Now! We r very vulnerable! If we as Americans don’t turn back to God very soon I hate to see this country in the future! Let’s pray for our nation everyday!
