SALES TAX REBATES UP FOR CITY; DOWN FOR COUNTY
The monthly sales tax rebates have increased slightly for the City of Brenham and taken a slight drop for Washington County.
Based on December sales, Brenham received $656.629 for its payment this month, up 1.4-percent from the 2015 payment of $647.293.
The payment for Washington County declined 1.5-percent to $271,629, compared to $275,898 in 1015.
The City of Burton’s payment was $4,525, an increase of 5.1-percent from February 2015’s $4,307.
The Texas Comptroller’s office sent cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts over $867-million in local sales tax allocations for February, 0.7 percent less than in February 2015.
