SELECT SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT IN BRENHAM STILL ON FOR THIS WEEKEND

City officials say a State Championship softball tournament is still on schedule for this weekend.

Brenham Public Works Director Dane Rau says the 12-and-Under Virtual Tournament Director fast-pitch tournament is still a go on nine fields in Brenham over the weekend.

According to Rau, 52 teams will be competing on six fields at Hohlt Park and three fields at Henderson Park between Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

Rau says he and city staff are confident the fields will be playable for the tournament.

Rau says plenty of manpower will be used to make sure the fields are all playable for the weekend.

The final games will be played Sunday afternoon on the Blinn Buccaneers Field at Hohlt Park.
