SEVEN ARRESTED ON LOCAL DRUG CHARGES
Seven people face drug possession charges after their arrests by Brenham Police in three separate cases.
Saturday night around 7:30, Officer Jonathan Phipps conducted a traffic stop in the 2400 block of SH 105.
29-year old Robert Wesley Singleton had an open container of alcohol in the car and consented to a search, during which marijuana was located.
Singleton is charged with Possession of marijuana under 2 oz.
Saturday, around 10:25 p.m., Officer Terrence Johnson conducted a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Gun and Rod Road.
During the stop, Johnson says he could smell the strong odor of marijuana. A probable search turned up marijuana.
None of the five occupants claimed the marijuana. All of them were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, including: 19-year old Dwight Devonte Sacus of Houston; 19-year old Rashawn Laron Marable, of Arlington; 19-year old Shania Moesha Carita Nixon, of Dallas; 19-year old Amari Le’Mir Lavasse Herod, of Dallas; and, 18- year old McKenzie Reigh Barham, of San Antonio.
Sunday morning, just before 1:30, Sgt. Curtiss Schoen reported a vehicle parked at Jackson Street Park in violation of a city ordinance.
Schoen says he could smell the strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.
21-year old Vicente Daniel Recarthe, of Houston, is charged with Possession of marijuana under 2 oz in drug free zone.
