THIRD OFFENSE DWI

  

A man that Brenham police described as being ‘extremely intoxicated’ was arrested on a third offense driving while intoxicated charge, after striking the a pole between the Taco Bell and the Murphy Gas Station,  on highway 36 near the highway 290 interchange just after three Friday afternoon.

Witnesses saw they saw silver Toyota drive away towards  South Chappell Hill Street.  A DPS trooper was able to stop 49-year old Gregory Lee Holbert of Brenham.  He appeared to be severely intoxicated and even had trouble getting to his feet.  He was determined to be intoxicated.

Once arrested, his record was checked and they found he had been convicted at least twice before on DWI charges.  Now, the charge is a felony that could send him to prison for the next ten years.
