THREE ARRESTED THIS WEEKEND ON POSSESSION CHARGES

  

The Brenham Police Department made three separate arrests for drug possession over the weekend:

A Brenham man is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance after a Friday night traffic stop.

Cpl. David Dudenhoeffer pulled over a vehicle for a defective tail light in the area of Old Chappell Hill Road near Alois Lane.

Dudenhoeffer says the driver came to a stop in the middle of the roadway, and the driver, 20-year old Luis Armando Rivera, appeared very nervous.

Dudenhoeffer says he saw a white plastic bag on the passenger floorboard that contained two open beer cans.

A search of the vehicle turned up more alcohol as well as a pill of what appeared to be ecstasy.

Rivera is charged with Possession of a controlled substance under 1 gram – a State jail felony.

 

A Houston man is charged with Possession of Marijuana after his arrest early Saturday morning.

Officer Jonathan Phipps was called out to the 900 block of Mill Creek at around 3:00 Saturday morning, in reference to a noise complaint.

Officers had previously responded to the same address for complaints about noise and shots fired.

Phipps says he saw five people exit a vehicle which had a strong smell of marijuana emitting from it.

A search of the vehicle turned up three baggies of marijuana.

19-year old Dillon Jacob Payne is charged with Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz in a drug free zone.

 

A Brenham man faces felony possession charges after his arrest Sunday night.

Cpl. Seth Klehm was patrolling in the 900 block of US 290 W on the frontage road around 10:00 Sunday night, when he observed a vehicle merge onto the highway at a high rate of speed.

Klehm pulled the vehicle over, and Klehm says the driver, 29-year old Carlos Ramirez Jr.,  was nervous and stated he had recently been arrested for possession of prescription drugs.

During a search of the vehicle,Klehm found traces of marijuana and a baggie of what appeared to be crack cocaine.

Ramirez is charged with possession of a controlled substance, 1-4 grams, a class 3 felony.
