TWO ARREST FOR DRUG POSSESSION

 A male subject dressed in black clothing and wearing black gloves and a backpack, walking down Barbee and Bridge Streets around 1:50am Wednesday morning, caught the attention of Officer Kevin Mertz, who made contact with the man.

Due to recent early morning burglaries, Mertz asked the subject if he knew anything about the burglaries. After denying any knowledge of the burglaries, the subject admitted that he did have narcotics in his backpack.

Mertz discovered both marijuana and cocaine and $2,000 in cash during a search of the backpack, and the subject, twenty-nine year old Ladarriel Quinte Maxie of Brenham, was arrested, charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a controlled substance under 4 grams and possession of marijuana under 4 oz.

 

Police received a call Tuesday around 2:17pm, in reference to a driver who appeared to be asleep inside a

vehicle stopped at a stop sign.

The driver, nineteen-year-old Wade Taylor Pounds, of Houston, said that he was just tired and pulled into a parking lot of a store, according to the caller.

Cpl. Tommy Kurie made contact with the driver, whose eyes were red and glassy, and asked Pounds if he had anything illegal in his vehicle, and after a few minutes Pounds admitted to having synthetic marijuana in his car.

Pounds then walked to his vehicle and handed Kurie the drugs and a pipe.

Pounds was charged with Possession of synthetic cannabinoids.
