WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVE GRANT APPLICATION

  

The Washington County Commissioners approved a grant application at their meeting this (Tuesday) morning.  The commissioner heard from District Attorney Julie Renken who is seeking a 38 thousand dollar grant for both 2016 and 2017.  She explained that the grant money would go towards funding a victim’s assistant coordinator for her office. The grant funds are made available through the Texas Attorney General’s Crime Victim Services Division.  The grant would also be used to purchase courtroom equipment to use in cases in the district.  Julie Renken explains:

In other action the commissioners approved the renewal of the yearly contract with Aramak Correctional Services for the food service operation at the Washington County Jail.  It was noted that for the first time, there was no increase in the cost of the contract over last year.
