“WHERE HAVE ALL THE MONARCHS GONE” WORKSHOP THIS SATURDAY

A workshop session for children to explore the life-cycle and migration of the Monarch butterfly on will be held on Saturday at the Washington on the Brazos State Historic Site.

The workshop, hosted by the Gideon Lincecum Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists, will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

It will include a discussion of food and nursery sources, as well as how to plant a butterfly way station at home. The class will also include a lively mixture of indoor and outdoor activities (weather permitting), all geared toward children from the age of 6 to 12 years old. It will be a hands-on and lively adventure as children follow the Monarch butterfly from egg to caterpillar to butterfly, and then follow the butterfly's journey to Mexico.
