BLINN OPENS REGISTRATION FOR MAY MINIMESTER, SUMMER AND FALL COURSES

  

Blinn College opened its May Minimester, Summer and Fall semesters for registration to all students today.

Blinn’s May Minimester runs May 16 – June 1, and registration is available through May 15.

Students can choose from the following online May Minimester courses: American Government, Art Appreciation, Art History II, Composition I, General Psychology, Lifespan Growth & Development, Music Appreciation, Nutrition & Diet Therapy, Introduction to Physical Fitness, Physical Geography, Public Speaking, Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Speech Communication, Texas Government, Texas History, Introduction to Theater, U.S. History I, U.S. History II and World Geography.

On the Brenham campus, students can take American Government. In Bryan, students can choose from American Government, Animal Science, Art History II, Calculus for Business & Social Sciences, Introduction to Ethics, First Aid, General Psychology, Mathematics for Business & Social Sciences I, Personal Community Health, Public Speaking, Introduction to Sociology, Statistics, Texas Government, U.S. History I, U.S. History II and World Geography.

The Summer I semester runs June 6 – July 1 and Summer 10-week courses run June 6 – Aug. 3, with registration available through June 5. The Summer II semester runs July 6 – August 3, with registration available through July 5.

The Fall semester, Aug. 29 – Dec. 13, is open to registration through Aug. 28.

According to enrollment projections from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, Blinn is expected to be the second fastest-growing community college in the state between 2015 and 2020.

Blinn’s academic transfer rate is the highest in the state and approximately 20 percent higher than the state average. The College has also earned national recognition for affordability: out-of-district Blinn students who took 30 credit hours during the 2015-16 academic year saved an average of $3,345 (40.2 percent) in tuition and fees compared to state residents at the average Texas public university.
