CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS STORM RECOVERY EFFORTS

The Brenham City Council will discuss a series of professional services agreements related to the May 2016 storm recovery effort during their meeting on Thursday.

The council will consider entering into professional services agreements with O’Malley Strand and Gunda to start the recovery and mitigation of multiple projects through the City. This will include the repairs to the Water Intake Structure at Lake Somerville, Wastewater and Water Treatment Plant, and Multiple Drainage and Street Locations throughout the City.

During a work session, the council will also discuss the possible placement of stop signs at the intersection of S. Chappell Hill and Neibuhr Street. Over the last year, the City of Brenham has received numerous concerns over the limited visibility and safety at this intersection.

In other business, the council will:

  • Discuss a bid for Generator Maintenance and Inspection for various city facilities
  • Consider a Ground Space Lease Agreement with Bob Handley for hangar space at the Brenham Municipal Airport
  • Discuss an ordinance on its first reading authorizing a variance to design standard requirements on a tract of land located at 1118 West Main Street
