BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL DEADLINE PASSES WITH NO NEW APPLICANTS

With no new candidates for the vacant Brenham City Council seat, the special election for December 8^th has been cancelled.

Monday was the deadline to submit applications for a place on the ballot, for the At-Large Council Position 5 expiring in May 2021. The position was formerly held by Charlie Pyle, who resigned in August.

Only one candidate filed for a place on the ballot: Clint Kolby, former Project Manager for the Brenham Economic Development Foundation. Kolby filed the application on September 10^th.

City Secretary Jeana Bellinger will request that the council cancel the election scheduled for December 8^th, at its next meeting on October 18^th.

Kolby will be sworn in at a future council meeting, but that date has not been finalized.
