BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL DEADLINE PASSES WITH NO NEW APPLICANTS
With no new candidates for the vacant Brenham City Council seat, the special election for December 8th has been cancelled.

Monday was the deadline to submit applications for a place on the ballot, for the At-Large Council Position 5 expiring in May 2021. The position was formerly held by Charlie Pyle, who resigned in August.
Only one candidate filed for a place on the ballot: Clint Kolby, former Project Manager for the Brenham Economic Development Foundation. Kolby filed the application on September 10th.
City Secretary Jeana Bellinger will request that the council cancel the election scheduled for December 8th, at its next meeting on October 18th.
Kolby will be sworn in at a future council meeting, but that date has not been finalized.
Anyone with questions can call Bellinger at 979-337-7567.
