CSI TEAMS ADVANCE TO NEXT LEVEL COMPETITION
Three of the four Brenham ISD Lego teams will advance to Austin after the qualifier round. The four teams of 6th grade students enrolled in the Gifted and Talented program competed at the Central Texas First Lego League Qualifier event at Sam Rayburn Intermediate School in Bryan last Saturday. Of the 34 competing teams, the top 10 advance to the Central Texas First Lego League Invitational in Austin, February 16th.
This year’s theme was “Into Orbit” and teams were judged in 4 areas in the competition: Core Values, Project, Robot Design, and the Robot Game. In addition to the advancing teams, Space Campers placed 5th in the robot game, Gardeners of the Galaxy placed 9th, PARO’S Partners placed 10th, and Radiation Raiders placed 11th. Team Space Campers also received a trophy for 2nd place Robot Design and Team PARO’S Partners received a trophy for 2nd place Champions Award.
CSI (Challenging Scientific Investigations) is a Brenham ISD Gifted and Talented initiative that provides an opportunity for 2nd-6th grade students who are identified as Gifted and Talented to explore science and technology as they read, write, solve problems, conduct experiments and apply science to their daily lives.
