BRENHAM POLICE ARREST FIVE FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Three separate drug arrests in Brenham landed five people in jail this past weekend.

Friday morning, around 7:45 a.m., Corporal David Dudenhoeffer and Officer Lawrence Garnett stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of East Academy Street. During the course of the traffic stop, Ecstasy was located.

Both occupants, 23-year-old Xavier Taylor of Brenham and 22-year-old Jeanette Martinez of Bryan, were placed in custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.

Taylor was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and two active warrants out of Brazos County. Martinez was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, along with No Driver’s License, Failure to ID Fugitive with Intent to Give False Info, and two active warrants for her arrest out of Bryan.

Also on Friday, Officer Andrew Adams conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of West Fifth and High Streets. Investigation revealed the driver, 21-year-old Rene Juarez of Brenham, and the passenger, 22-year-old Carlos Ortiz of Brenham, were in possession of prescription pills, marijuana, methamphetamines, and drug paraphernalia.

Both were arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail, for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Dangerous Drug.

Saturday morning, just before 10:30 a.m., Officer Eddie Martinez stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of Prairie Lea Street. Officers searched the vehicle after consent was given by the driver, and found synthetic cannabinoids.

The suspect, 40-year-old April Gailey of Rockdale, was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
