A longtime City of Brenham official was recognized Thursday for his service to the community.

Assistant City Manager of Public Utilities Lowell Ogle was given recognition and hearty applause at the city council meeting for 35 years working with the City of Brenham.

Ogle spoke to co-workers and other members of the audience, recollecting how his career began and memories along the way.

City Manager James Fisher said Ogle was one of the first people he was introduced to when he began working in Brenham last January.  He thanked Ogle for his help with familiarizing him in the community and getting him up to speed.

Ogle thanked members of the city staff for all the work they do, as well as the community for allowing him to be a part of it.

People who stayed after the council’s meeting were invited to enjoy cake and refreshments at a small reception outside the council chambers.
