BLINN BOARD TO DECLARE ELECTION RESULTS WEDNESDAY

The Blinn Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting Wednesday to canvass results from the May 4th election.

The board will officially declare results and issue certificates of election for the newly elected and re-elected members on the Blinn board.  Each of the members will serve full six-year terms.

Three at-large board positions were up for grabs in the election, with two seeing new faces.  Formerly held by trustee David Sommer, At-Large Position Three will now be held by longtime Blinn administrator Dennis Crowson.  Crowson defeated longtime Blinn teacher H.F. Poehlmann with 1,295 votes to 580.

For At-Large Position Two, local businessman Jim Kolkhorst will fill the seat formerly held by Atwood Kenjura, who did not run for re-election after 43 years on the board.  Kolkhorst ran unopposed in the election, receiving 1,686 votes.

Incumbent and current Board Chair Charles Moser was re-elected to At-Large Position One, after running unopposed.  Moser, who has served four years on the board after completing an unexpired term, received 1,619 votes in the election.

Trustees will meet Wednesday at noon in the Brenham Campus Administration Building.
