CLOSED DOOR DISCUSSION ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TOPS BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL AGENDA
The Brenham City Council will continue executive session discussion on economic development at its meeting Thursday.
The council will meet behind closed doors to continue talks on “Project Hi-Speed”. The city is currently conducting economic development negotiations with a business prospect, which is looking to possibly locate to Brenham. The council held off action on the item at its last meeting.
Discussion includes the possible “offer of financial or other incentives” to the business prospect. No information has been made open to the public concerning the business or incentives in question.
Also in executive session, the council will hold discussion on the acquisition of real property in the downtown area for future municipal improvements.
Following its return to open session, the council will act on a performance agreement of the Brenham Community Development Corporation (BCDC) regarding “Project Hi-Speed”. It will also possibly act upon the purchase of real property in the downtown area.
Also on the agenda, the council will administer oaths of office and issue certificates of election to the winners of May 4th’s election. Those are Mayor Milton Tate, Ward 2 Councilmember Albert Wright, and new Ward 4 Councilmember Adonna Saunders.
Councilmembers will also consider the election of a Mayor Pro Tem by the city council. The current Mayor Pro Tem is Ward 3 Councilmember Andrew Ebel.
The council will also:
- Host work session discussion on Fiscal Year 2019-20 budget workshop dates and upcoming city council meeting dates.
- Discuss a bid for HVAC service and maintenance for various city facilities.
- Consider a contract for uniform rental services for various city departments.
- Discuss approval of an assignment and memo of lease with G3 Investments, LLC for hangar space at the Brenham Municipal Airport.
The council will meet Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m., at City Hall.
