Approximately $2 million in cocaine was confiscated by Fayette County authorities in a traffic stop Thursday.

A little after 10:30 a.m., Fayette County Sheriff's Sergeant Randy Thumann and K-9 Kolt stopped a 2019 Ford Dually on I-10 at the 664 mile marker for a traffic violation.

After speaking with the driver, Sgt. Thumann noticed many familiar signs of narcotics trafficking, and was given consent to search the vehicle.

Sgt. Thumann would find several kilos of cocaine concealed inside rolled up commercial tarps in the bed of the truck.  Approximately 20 kilos of cocaine were removed from the truck, with an estimated street value of $2 million.

The driver, 33-year-old Robert Lee Prado of Dallas, was arrested for Felony Drug Possession and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
