STATE SUPREME COURT UPHOLDS RULING AGAINST FORMER BRENHAM VET

The Texas Supreme Court has upheld a decision to punish a former Brenham veterinarian, who had her license suspended after posting a picture on social media claiming she killed a cat with a bow and arrow.

Kristen Lindsey

The Court announced Friday it rejected the appeal of Kristen Lindsey, who in 2016 was placed on probation for four years and was given probated suspension on her veterinary license for one year.

According to the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiner’s website, her probation is set to expire in February, although her suspension ended in October 2017.

Lindsey, who previously worked for the Washington Animal Clinic in Brenham, posted a photo on Facebook in April 2015 of her holding up a cat with an arrow through its head.

After the story drew controversy, Lindsey was fired shortly afterwards.  Lindsey said in court the cat was feral, while neighbors claimed it was a pet named Tiger.

State officials have rejected at least three requests from Lindsey concerning her license, including a formal appeal, since August 2016.

  1. be very careful what you put on social media lots of others have also been bitten in the butt by things that they have posted

  2. Oh my goodness, enough is enough! What she did was wrong and showed poor judgement, but people who commit crimes that cause much more harm to society than this get off with much less punishment. It is time to restore her completely and allow her to live her life.
