BURTON COTTON GIN FESTIVAL POSTPONED TO JUNE 13TH
The 31st Annual Burton Cotton Gin Festival has been postponed into the summer because of concerns over COVID-19.
Tynan Shadle with the Texas Cotton Gin Museum confirmed that this year’s festival, initially set for Saturday, April 18th, will now take place on Saturday, June 13th.
The event annually brings thousands into downtown Burton to celebrate America’s oldest operating cotton gin, and to take part in activities such as tours, folk-life demonstrations, contests, and a parade. The historic cotton gin was designated in 2009 as the Official Cotton Gin Museum of Texas.
Due to COVID-19, the museum is currently closed to the public until further notice. For more information, visit www.texascottonginmuseum.org.
