BLINN TAKING SUMMER PERKINS GRANT APPLICATIONS THROUGH APRIL 14TH

  

Blinn College is now taking applications for Perkins Grant funds for the Summer semester.

Eligible Applied Sciences majors taking Summer courses can now apply for the Carl D. Perkins Basic Grant.  The online application opened at 9 a.m. this (Tuesday) morning, and closes next Tuesday, April 14th, at 9 a.m.

The Perkins Grant is a federally funded program that provides community colleges with resources to develop their career and technical education departments.  Students can apply Perkins funds towards textbooks.

Financial aid is available on a first-come, first-served basis for enrolled students.

To be eligible, students must:

  • be an Applied Sciences or Pre-Applied Sciences major,
  • be registered for at least three hours for the Summer 2020 semester,
  • be enrolled in at least one Applied Sciences degree or certificate plan course (academic or technical),
  • have a minimum 2.5 grade-point average,
  • have a valid, current Blinn student email address, and
  • fit into one of nine special population categories listed at: blinn.edu/perkins-grant/financial-assistance.html.

Registration for Blinn’s May Minimester, Summer, and Fall terms is open now to current students, while new students can register beginning at 9 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.  Due to COVID-19, all May Minimester and Summer courses will be offered online.
