LCRA DONATES $104,000 TO AREA FOOD BANKS

The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) has donated $104,000 to 52 food banks across 31 counties to help support communities throughout its service area.

The LCRA provided $2,000 to each of the 52 community food banks to help provide food to people in need.  The recipients include food banks in Austin, Burleson, Fayette, Lee, Waller, and Washington Counties.

LCRA General Manager Phil Wilson said the COVID-19 pandemic has challenged all Texans to take care of each other, particularly with as many people as there are out of work.  He said the LCRA is honored to support these food banks, saying, “There is perhaps no greater calling than the work these organizations do in providing food for people who have no other place to turn.”
