BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL GOES OVER COVID-19 GUIDELINES FOR START OF SCHOOL

Brenham High School Principal Joe Chandler addresses Brenham ISD's COVID-19 guidelines for the upcoming school year in a YouTube video posted Monday.

Brenham High School Principal Joe Chandler went over some of the COVID-19 protocols high school students can expect when they return to class later this month in a YouTube video posted Monday.

Chandler discussed some of the preventative measures the district and the high school will use against the virus, and talked about expectations for in-person and remote students.

Chandler said face-to-face instruction will be modeled around the traditional sense of education that students are used to, but it will feature some big changes from what they experienced last year.

Chandler said remote learning will also be much different from what students saw in the spring.  He said the expectations for online students will be the same as those taking classes in-person, and foresees the biggest challenge for many students to be “learning to learn online”.

Chandler emphasized the importance of parents filling out their commitment forms to select what form of instruction their students will receive.  He concluded that he and staff are ready to see students, no matter what instructional method they choose.

Brenham ISD begins classes on Tuesday, August 25th.  The deadline for parents to submit their commitment forms is tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 11:59 p.m.  To fill out a form, visit www.brenhamisd.net., or click the link here.
