BRENHAM ISD TO BEGIN OFFERING FREE RAPID COVID-19 TESTING JANUARY 4TH

Brenham ISD is now taking part in a statewide program offering free voluntary rapid COVID-19 tests for use in school districts.

The program, offered through the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and the Texas Education Agency (TEA), will allow Brenham ISD to test individuals and help prevent the spread of COVID-19 at schools.  The district will begin testing students and staff on Monday, January 4th.

Testing is limited to Brenham ISD staff and students.  Consent for testing is required, and parents or legal guardians must consent for students under the age of 18 to be tested.

Appointments will be available on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in 30 minute increments beginning on January 4th, with afternoon appointments also available on the 4th.  Testing will be offered at the Brenham Community Education Building at 1301 South Market Street.

Test results will be made available through the contact information provided upon registering for the program.  Results will be sent by text message and email within 24 hours of the test.

For more information on the program, visit www.brenhamisd.net, or go to the online FAQ page for the testing program.

Non-Brenham ISD students or staff who are seeking a COVID-19 test can refer to the TDEM and DSHS COVID-19 Test Collection Sites Map.
