Original Story @ 9:19 a.m.: About 10 Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members in north Washington County remain without power after an outage that began early this (Friday) morning.

The outage, reported at 2 a.m., initially affected nearly 280 members north of Brenham along FM 390, east of Highway 36.

Bluebonnet Public Affairs Manager Will Holford says crews are restoring power cautiously and incrementally due to low temperatures.  He adds that energy demand is at its highest during cold weather, and that the power must be brought back on slowly to avoid overloading the system.

Members in an outage can help by turning their thermostats off or down at least four degrees and turning off nonessential electric appliances and lights until power has been restored for 10 to 20 minutes.
