ERCOT CANCELS ROTATING OUTAGES

The state’s grid operator has canceled the need for statewide rotating outages.

ERCOT officials confirmed an end to emergency conditions late this (Friday) morning.

No additional outages were needed overnight to keep power supply and electric demand in balance, and only a few generating units tripped.

Customers that are still without power likely are out due to ice storm damage on the distribution system.

Bluebonnet Electric officials say anyone who is still experiencing an outage is urged to call: 800 949-4414, go to bluebonnet.coop or use the mobile app.

  1. I will withhold my feelings about ERCOT as that would only distract me from my reason for making this post.
I would like to thank Bluebonnet for the amazing service they provided for my area on Thursday.
After being under a rolling blackout since Sunday night we finally got steady power sometimes during the night on Wednesday Feb 17.
At approximately 6:00 AM Thursday Feb 18 we completely lost power again. When the power did not return after 30 minutes I reported the outage. A lineman was in the area within an hour but reported that he would need to call for additional help.
Apparently a large oak was uprooted by a build up of ice. That tree began a cascading event which took out two additional trees and multiple power lines. The trees and power lines then fell into a creek bed . This happened in an area which was inaccessible by vehicles used for line repair so they had to clear the trees and untangle the lines manually.
Despite the huge mess the Bluebonnet crew was able to get our power restored by 3:00 PM.
I could not let such outstanding service go unacknowledged.
    Thank you Bluebonnet.
