WASHINGTON CO. 4-H ATTENDS LEADERSHIP LAB; MADISON MORAN ELECTED TO DISTRICT 4-H COUNCIL
Members of the Washington County 4-H Club recently attended the District 11 4-H Leadership Lab to improve their leadership skills on the county and district levels.
Senior members attended the leadership lab at McKinney Roughs Nature Park in Cedar Creek, near Bastrop. The four-day, three-night leadership camp training, themed “Bringing the World Together Through 4-H!”, offered lab activities focused on team bonding, leadership and personal development, college and career exploration, motivational speeches and community services.
Attending from Washington County were District Council officer Clayton Boeker, along with Washington County Council officers and 4-Hers Madison Moran, Eli Saunders, Gretchen Schulze, Emmy Boyd, Dalton Winkelmann and Adrie Niemeyer.
Moran was a candidate for office in the 2021-22 District 4-H Council election. After applying, performing a virtual candidate interview and campaigning at camp, Moran was elected 3rd Vice Chairman of the council.
Boeker served in his District Council 1st Vice Chairman role to help conduct the event. This was his final event to serve in this capacity.
Washington County Extension Agent Allyson James accompanied local 4-Hers, and is also the District 11 Council Advisor.
