ASTROS ACQUIRE MARLINS CLOSER GARCIA; RANGERS DEAL GALLO TO YANKEES

Yimi Garcia

The Houston Astros continued to bolster their bullpen before the trade deadline, acquiring right-handed closer Yimi Garcia from the Miami Marlins for two players.

In exchange for Garcia, the Astros sent outfielder Bryan De La Cruz and right-hander Austin Pruitt to the Marlins.

It's the second straight day the AL West-leading Astros have swung a trade to add bullpen help.  On Tuesday, Houston acquired Marlins closer Kendall Graveman.

Joey Gallo

Meanwhile, Wednesday night, the Texas Rangers have dealt All Star outfielder Joey Gallo to the New York Yankees.

The Rangers will receive right-hander Glenn Otto, second baseman Ezequiel Duran, shortstop Josh Smith and second baseman/outfielder Trevor Hauver from New York. Texas will send an additional player, pitcher Joely Rodríguez, to New York to complete the deal.
