BLINN BOARD TO DISCUSS NEW ADMINISTRATION BUILDING

The Blinn College Board of Trustees will discuss several construction projects including the new administration building on the Bryan campus at their regular meeting Tuesday.

The new 45,000 square foot administration building will be built at the site of the former Rivergate Church property on the north side of the Blinn Bryan campus.  During Tuesday’s meeting Blinn trustees are expected to authorize the administration to negotiate and execute a contract for architectural services and seek proposals for construction manager at risk services for the construction.  The facility is expected to be completed in the fall of 2023.

Also during Tuesday’s meeting Blinn trustees will discuss the purchase of furniture, fixtures and equipment for the Rellis Phase II Building on the Blinn Rellis campus; discuss engineering services related to street and sidewalk realignment on College Avenue on the Blinn Brenham campus; seek proposals for construction related to chiller replacement and building automation upgrades on the Bryan campus;  and approve the naming of the P3 Student Housing Project on the Brenham campus.

The Blinn College Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 in the Student Center on the Bryan campus.

  1. It’s amazing that Government agencies, which Blinn is one, have no problem spending tax payer money for things that maybe we could do without…private industry has to justify these things by proving services provided are a value to their customers and making a profit to pay fir them. Blinn, like most institutions has way plenty of unneeded administrators to fill this unneeded building…sort of reminds me of the recently built County Road/Bridge building…that effort has “REALLY” produced better service/value!!
