MAN ARRESTED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A CHILD

Police arrested a Brenham man Thursday for Sexual Assault of a Child.
Thursday at 7:35 PM, Officers responded to the 1100 block of North Park Street in reference to a wanted person. The male was later identified as Juan Torrez Jr., 24 of Brenham, and was placed into custody for Sexual Assault of a Child and transported to Washington County jail and released to jail staff. Brenham Police commented that this was a Motion to Revoke Probation warrant, not a new charge.
