BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER A MEMBER’S RESIGNATION AT TUESDAY MEETING

The Burton City Council will be discussing whether or not to accept the resignation of one of its members at their next meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) evening at 5:30pm at the Burton City Hall.

Position Three Council Member Jason Schoenvogel has turned in his resignation, which would take effect on May 7, 2022.

He has been a member of the Council since being sworn after the May 2020 elections.

Other items on the agenda include approving an Election Services Contract between the City of Burton and Washington County for the May 7, 2022 General Election, as well as an Inter-local Election Contract between the City of Burton and Burton ISD.

They will also discuss a road closure for North Railroad Street between West Washington Street and West Texas Street for Ranger Day, which is being held on March 12.

The council will also appoint a member to the Washington County Appraisal District Budget Committee, and discuss approving the Appraisal District for their 2022-2023 audit.
