BRENHAM MAN IDENTIFIED AS VICTIM OF FATAL CRASH ON HIGHWAY 290
DPS has identified a Brenham man as the victim of Monday morning’s fatal collision on Highway 290, west of Brenham.
39-year-old Phillip Molitor was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred just before 6:45 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 290, near FM 2679.
According to a report from DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz, a 2011 International truck tractor towing a trailer was stopped for a school bus, which had its red lights activated and was loading students. A 2017 Ford F-250, driven by Molitor, struck the rear of the trailer.
The driver of the International was uninjured.
DPS says investigation of the crash is ongoing.
