CITY OF BRENHAM DEPT. HEAD INJURED IN ACCIDENT

  

A City of Brenham department head was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident this (Thursday) morning.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. in front of the Washington County Expo on Blue Bell Road, and involved a car and a motorcycle.

Washington County EMS said the driver of the motorcycle was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan in stable condition.  The patient was identified by city officials as Street Department Superintendent Brian Smith.

The two occupants of the car did not receive treatment.

Authorities are still determining how the accident occurred.

  1. I was there immediately following this! Folks please watch out for motorcycles! This appeared to be the classic case of an oncoming car turning in front of a motorcycle. While I don’t know that to be fact, that is the single most common type of car/motorcycle collisions. It’s because people are just geared to see large moving objects an often miss seeing motorcycles! So please be aware! WATCH! My prayers for Brian Smith!
