BLINN COLLEGE HIRES NEW WOMEN’S HEAD SOCCER COACH

New Blinn Women's Head Soccer Coach Alexandria Jackson

The Blinn College District has named Alexandria Jackson as its new head women's soccer coach.

Jackson takes over the women's program following three seasons in which she served as an assistant men's and women's coach to Michael McBride, who will continue to serve as the Buccaneer men's soccer coach. Since their inception in 2018, the men's and women's teams have grown, and dedicated coaches for each team will allow both squads to reach new heights.

"I'm delighted to continue my coaching journey here at Blinn and continue building the program," Jackson said. "To be able to continue building upon what coach Michael McBride and I have started is amazing. I want to thank coach McBride because this opportunity would not have been possible without him."

During Jackson's three seasons as an assistant, the Buccaneer men's team reached the region tournament three times while the women's team qualified in 2021 and 2022.

"I am ecstatic that Alex is our new women's head soccer coach," Schumacher said. "She has been extremely professional and coaches players in a way that you would want your daughter to be coached."

In 2020-21, Jackson was named to the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 Program, a year-long education and mentorship program designed to support up-and-coming members of the coaching profession who are 30 years of age or younger.

Prior to Blinn, Jackson served as head coach of the Phoenix Rising club soccer teams. She oversaw four teams that finished the season with records above .500 and made Arizona State Cup appearances. In addition, all 20 members of the U17 team signed letters of intent to NCAA Division I and II teams.

Jackson also spent five seasons coaching the Waldorf University women's soccer team. From 2014-2016, she served as an assistant coach and was named head coach in 2017. Jackson helped lead the Warriors to four consecutive North Star Conference Tournament appearances from 2014 through 2017. While there, she coached 30 all-conference players, five Champions of Character, and 35 scholar-athletes.

Jackson was a four-year collegiate soccer player for NCAA Division I Northwestern State University. She graduated from Northwestern State in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in health and exercise science. In 2016, she earned a Master of Arts in organizational leadership from Columbia Southern University. Jackson also holds her National Diploma, Advanced National Diploma, and U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) C License.
