AUSTIN CO. FAIR PARADE THURSDAY

  

Festivities for the 95th Annual Austin County Fair continue today (Thursday) with the annual parade through downtown Bellville.

The parade gets underway at 10 a.m., with a theme of “Saddle Up”.  The grand marshal for the parade is Stanley Jackson, longtime fair supporter and board member.

After the parade, the Austin County Fairgrounds open up for the carnival, country store, livestock judging and entertainment.

Comedy hypnotist Michael Mezmer will perform at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.  The PCRA Rodeo starts at 7:30 p.m.  This evening’s music lineup features Glen Templeton at 8 p.m. and Neal McCoy at 10 p.m.

Today is Armed Forces Day, offering $5 off of admission for anyone in military uniform or with military identification.  Vietnam veterans will meet in the American Legion building from 5 to 8 p.m.

All students of Austin County schools receive free admission until 5 p.m.  Day tickets are $20 after 5 p.m.

KTEX-106’s Dean Dillon will broadcast live from the parade this morning in the KTEX Country Cruiser, while Trail Boss Troy will announce the parade.  Dean Dillon will also host “The Drive Home” live from the fairgrounds this afternoon.
