PROSECUTORS SEEKING TO GET BOND RAISED FOR MURDER SUSPECT

Prosecutors have filed a motion to get the bond raised for a Waller County man accused of killing his newlywed wife two weeks ago.
21-year-old Jared Dicus was arrested and charged with the January 11 murder of his wife Anggy Diaz, who was also just 21-years-old at the time.
Investigators say Dicus stabbed Diaz multiple times with what was believed to be a kitchen knife, and then proceeded to decapitate her.
The murder occurred at their home on his parents’ property on Oak Hollow just south of FM 1488.
Bond for Dicus has been set at $500,000, but the Waller County District Attorney’s Office is seeking to get the bond raised to a minimum of $1 million due to the “heinous nature” of the crime, and the suspect’s “history of violent behavior.”
At the time of the murder, Dicus was out on bond for a DWI arrest that occurred in November 2022.
Prosecutors say that while he was in jail on the DWI charge that Dicus became extremely agitated, and threatened arresting officers, members of the jail staff, and other law enforcement.
He also had to be placed in restraints in order for jail medical staff to draw a blood sample.
At the time of her death, Diaz was working two jobs to pay for a family member’s cancer treatment.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise money to send her body back to her native Nicaragua.
No bond for him. Let him sit in jail. Terrible.
