BRENHAM POLICE SGT. TODD ASHORN RETIRING
A longtime member of the Brenham Police Department is retiring from the city.
The police department on Wednesday honored Sergeant Todd Ashorn at a retirement ceremony. Ashorn’s tenure with the department lasted over 22 years, beginning as a patrol officer on October 16, 2000, and his career saw him assigned to every section and division within the police department.
Ashorn’s most recent assignment was as the department’s recruiter, public relations liaison, internal affairs investigator and community outreach. He was also a department instructor in a variety of subjects, including the Citizens Police Academy.
At the retirement ceremony, City Manager Carolyn Miller said the city wishes him all the best in his future, adding he “is a wonderful example of the dedicated and committed staff who serve our community every day.”
Police Chief Ron Parker awarded Ashorn with a Meritorious Service Award and several commendations and certifications recognizing him for his years of service.
The department said Ashorn has retired from active duty as a full-time sworn officer, but will remain as a reserve police officer.
