BRENHAM CUBETTES SHUTOUT RUDDER 12-0 IN FIVE INNINGS
The Brenham Cubettes got back on the winning track this (Monday) afternoon with a 12-0 victory over the Rudder Lady Rangers in a game that lasted only five innings due to the mercy rule.
Della Jasinski pitched five shutout innings to get the win. She allowed just two hits and struck out five.
Avery Maurer reached base on a bunt single, and then proceeded to steal second and third. Rudder made an error on a bunt by Kaylyn Rodriguez that allowed Maurer to score the first run of the game. Rodriguez stole second, and then scored on an RBI single by Annie Beckendorf. Beckendorf stole second, and then scored on an RBI single by Sarah Mabie to put the Cubettes up 3-0.
Kaylie Rodriguez hit into a fielder's choice that allowed Mabie to score. Kinley Antkowiak reached on an error that allowed Rodriguez to come all the way around for another Brenham run. Stella Landry singled, and then Nevaeh Holmes was brought in to courtesy run. She would score on an RBI single by McKenzie Tiemann. Those runs put Brenham up 6-0, and the first inning continued.
Maurer walked. Halle Scheel followed with an RBI single that scored Tiemann, and then on yet another Rudder error Maurer came into score as well. Kaylyn Rodriguez singled home Scheel later that inning and after half an inning, the Cubettes were already up 9-0.
In the third inning, Landry walked, and Holmes courtesy ran for her again. Tiemann moved her over with a sacrifice bunt. Maurer then brought her home on a sacrifice fly to make it 10-0.
Brenham would get two more runs in the fifth inning. Landry walked, and Holmes ran for her. Holmes stole second and then scored on an RBI single by Maurer. Maurer stole second, stole third, and then came home on an RBI single by Halle Scheel to finish off the scoring at 12-0.

With the win, the Cubettes improve to 22-8 on the season, and 7-3 in district. They will host Lake Creek tomorrow (Tuesday) night at 6:30pm at Alumni Field in Brenham. KWHI has live coverage beginning with the pregame at 6:05pm.
