BURTON PANTHERS WIN THEIR SENIORS NIGHT GAME OVER IOLA 9-0
The Burton Panther Baseball Team sent their fans home happy with a 9-0 win over the Iola Bulldogs last (Tuesday) night.

Burton got on the board right away in the bottom of the 1st inning. Vicente Veliz reached on an error, and then scored on an RBI double by Kaiden Kalkhake. Colby Beck reached on another Iola error that allowed Kalkhake to score to make it 2-0 Panthers.
In the bottom of the 3rd, Beck singled, and Bryson Biggs walked. Ryder Biggs then singled home Beck to make it 3-0 Burton. Brady Griffin singled in Bryson to make it 4-0. Austin Simank followed with a two run single to score Ryder and Griffin to increase the Panther lead to 6-0.
Burton would tack on three more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Chet Fritsch reached on an error. Colby Beck hit a double to left field that scored Fritsch. Carson Lauter reached on an infield hit and then on a subsequent error by Iola, Beck came in to score. Lauter later scored on an RBI groundout by Ryder Biggs to increase the lead to 9-0, which ended up being the final score.
Chet Fritsch pitched a gem going seven scoreless innings , allowing only five hits and striking out ten.
It was the final home game for five Burton seniors: Chet Fritsch, Kaiden Kalkhake, Carson Lauter, Pierson Spies, and Vicente Veliz.
