GARRETT DURRENBERGER SWORN IN AS LEE CO. SHERIFF
Lee County has named a new sheriff.
Garrett Durrenberger was sworn into office on Tuesday after being selected on Monday to fill the role vacated by Casey Goetz, who resigned on June 29th.
Durrenberger, who lives in Lincoln and was most recently the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office’s chief deputy, will serve out the remainder of Goetz’ term. Goetz was elected in 2020 after defeating Durrenberger in a runoff election for the post formerly held by Rodney Meyer.
A total of eight candidates were considered for the position.
Garrett is the son of Bank of Brenham Vice President Gary Durrenberger and the grandson of Washington County Judge John Durrenberger.
