CALDWELL HOLDING 38TH ANNUAL KOLACHE FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND
The 38th Annual Kolache Festival, sponsored by the Burleson County Chamber of Commerce, is returning to Caldwell this weekend.
They are going to be holding the Pre-Festival Dinner and Street Dance tonight (Friday) at the Burleson County Czech Heritage Museum. A pork steak meal will be served at 6:30pm followed by the dance from 7-10pm featuring music from Ed Kopecky and the Fun Time Polka Band.
The festivities then begin tomorrow (Saturday) morning with the Kolache Krunch 5K, which starts at 7:30am. The awards ceremony will be held at 9:30am.
They are also holding the Phil Perry Memorial Street Rod and Classic Car Show at Davidson Creek Park. Entries can begin arriving at 8:30am, and the awards will be presented at 12 noon.
The opening ceremony, featuring the crowning of Miss Kolache Festival 2023, will be held at the Polka Pavilion beginning at 9am. Then, at 9:30, the SPJST Youth Beseda Dancers will perform.
There is going to be a Battle of the Bands at 11am featuring the Moravians versus the Czechoholics.
The Kolache Eating Contest begins on the Southside of the Courthouse at 12 noon.
Ed Kopecky and the Fun Time Polka Band will make an encore performance at 3pm.
The day wraps up with the State Championship Kolache Bake Show Awards beginning at 3:30pm.
Also at the festival, they are going to have over 150 arts and crafts vendors, 25 food vendors, plus a petting zoo and train rides for the kids.
