WES MANGAN DISCUSSES HALL OF HONOR INDUCTION ON SPORTSLINE
One of this year’s Hall of Honor inductees discussed his upcoming Brenham Cub Football Hall of Honor induction on last (Monday) night’s edition of the Brenham Sportsline.
Wes Mangan is one of four former Cubs that are being inducted in the 2023 Class, which is also the 24th annual event.
He’ll be going in along with his brother Kyle Mangan, Dustin Moore, and Jahn Finke.
Mangan talked about how grateful he is for this induction.
Mangan started as a quarterback for the Cubs, and led them to a 9-2 record as a junior.
During his senior season, QB Jarrett Lee moved to Brenham, and so Mangan made the switch to tight end, where he would go on to earn All-District and All-Region honors.
That year, he helped lead Brenham to a perfect 10-0 record during the regular season and the district championship.
They would go on to win their first fourteen games in a row, including an upset over then #1 ranked La Marque in the Regional Championship.
He would go on to play in the Oil Bowl, Texas vs. Oklahoma All-Star Game, and played his college ball at McNeese State.
Mangan talked about what he remembered most about his time playing for the Cubs.
The Brenham Cub Football Hall of Honor induction ceremony will be held on Friday, November 3. It begins with a luncheon at 11:30am in the Blinn College Student Center Banquet Room.
The inductees will also be recognized on the field at Cub Stadium prior to the Brenham-Lake Creek game that night.
