FOUR CALLS BETWEEN THURSDAY, EARLY FRIDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Thursday and one early this (Friday) morning.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Thursday, the department was dispatched for an alarm sounding at the Toy Box Child Development Center, 2203 South Austin Street. Units made it to the location to learn that the alarm had been set off accidentally while cooking, and was reset prior to their arrival.
At 11:30 a.m., firefighters were called out to the 100 block of Highway 290 West for a transportation incident. They found a diesel truck leaking fuel and oil, with its trailer rolled over. Units used dry absorbent on the spill and cleaned the roadway off. After the road was cleared, they returned to service.
Around 7:45 p.m., the department received a report of a transportation incident with entrapment in the 8700 block of Harge Road, north of Burton. While enroute, dispatchers advised that the patient was out of the vehicle, so Brenham units returned to the station.
At 3 a.m. today, personnel responded to Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street, for an alarm sounding. They arrived to find nothing showing from the exterior of the building and no alarm sounding. Upon speaking with an employee, they were told the fire alarm never went off, but there was a beeping noise coming from elsewhere. Firefighters found the beeping noise from a different alarm, reset it, and advised the employee to have an alarm company come out to check the system.
