FIRST WEEK OF EARLY VOTING CONCLUDES WITH TURNOUT OF NEARLY 1,300

One week of early voting is in the books for the Texas constitutional amendment election.

According to Washington County Elections Administrator Carol Jackson, 363 people voted early on Friday, up from Thursday’s total of 242 voters and the highest tally of the week.

Through five days, there have been 1,285 early voters.  Compared to previous amendment elections, that amount more than doubles the opening turnout of November 2019 and November 2021, which saw 556 and 436 first-week early voters, respectively.  However, the May 2022 joint constitutional election and Brenham ISD bond election had 1,988 voters through the first week.

The Washington County Courthouse Annex reopens for early voting on Monday.  Hours will run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday.  Election Day is November 7th.
