NOVEMBER SALES TAX REBATES ALL UP IN WASHINGTON CO.

  

November was another month of growth for sales and tax distributions across Washington County.

The county’s rebate of $417,143 is 4.84 percent more than November 2022’s amount of $397,860.  So far this year, the county has received $4,363,864, up 10.51 percent from its receipts of $3,948,656 through this time last year.

The City of Brenham collected $888,657 this month, up 8.18 percent from the $821,460 it received last November.  Through 2023, the city has taken in $8,860,914, an increase of 5.59 percent compared to this point a year ago, when it had received $8,391,595.

The City of Burton received $13,140, a 37.29 percent jump from when it took in $9,571 in November 2022.  The city’s rebates through the year total $103,942, 12.66 percent more than the $92,254 received at this time last November.

Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported a state payout of $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations, up 1.9 percent from November of a year ago and up 5.8 percent for the year to date.
