BURTON CHEERLEADERS AT THE STATE SPIRIT COMPETITION

The Burton Lady Panther Cheerleading Squad is taking part in the State Spirit Competition, which is being held today (Thursday) at the Fort Worth Convention Center.  The qualifying round started this (Thursday) morning at 8:30am, and goes until just after 6pm.  The State Championship Finals are from 7pm-9:15pm. The evening finishes out with an awards ceremony at 9:25pm. Representing Burton are:

Seniors – Allie Biggs, Maddie Dixon, Jynisha Randle, and Katy Whitfield

Junior – Kara Kay

Sophomores – Avery Franklin and Emily Griffith

Freshmen – Liz Alvarado, Tatum Gore, Madison Helton, Mia Odom, and Skyler Unger

Head Coach – Rachael Unger

Assistant Coach – Miki Reed

The 1A, 2A, and 3A Spirit Competition is today.  The 4A competition is on Friday.  The 5A competition will have their qualifying round on Friday, and the State Finals on Saturday.  The 6A Competition is on Saturday.

Other area teams participating include: Columbus in 3A DI, College Station and A&M Consolidated in 5A DI, and Waller in 6A.

While Brenham did not make it, their district will be represented by Huntsville, Lake Creek, Montgomery, and Richmond Randle.
